McLaren Make Their Mark in Hungary
Congratulations to the McLaren Team and driver Lewis Hamilton after their great win in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
John Watson, a former McLaren driver, speaking on Radio 5 about McLaren's highly talented driver, said: 'The victory wasn't gifted to him, he took it and won it.'
McLaren continue to work with the Firstbeat Technologies team and Optima-life is delighted to be associated with such forward thinking organisations, focused on optimising performance.
FI is an exciting sport but not without its dangers. Like all sports and motor racing fans around the world, we wish Felipe Massa a speedy recovery.
The Healthpod Has All The Right Moves
Physiotherapy Frontline, the magazine of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has featured the Healthpod at the Hospital of St John + St Elizabeth, London as part of its 'Move for Health' national campaign.
The Healthpod is London's first hospital based facility specifically designed for assessing, testing and optimising health, wellbeing and fitness performance.
St John + St Elizabeth is also the first hospital in the UK to use the state of the art Firstbeat Technology from Optima-life.
Frontline's 'Move for Health' Campaign is currently running alongside the Government's 'Change for Life' campaign with the focus on getting the nation active and on the move.
Optima-life co- director and physiotherapist Tim Wright said:
'The work of the Healthpod team is focused on lifestyle and performance. The physiological data we produce is world class; it works like a camera focusing on how an individual is coping with his or her life. This is really powerful and can be quite an eye-opener to the individual. It is also highly motivational.
'We can then put stepping stone programmes into place in order to help each individual develop a personal strategy to maximise their performance. Exercise and a healthy diet are key components of our programmes and so naturally fit very well with the Physiotherapists' 'Move for Health Campaign'.''
