Firstbeat Bodyguard is a great new solution for recording heart rate and R-R interval data

Optima-life has launched Firstbeat Bodyguard, a new advance in heart rate measurement technology.

Unique in design, the Bodyguard provides professionals with a highly accurate device for measuring R-R interval. It can record up to 5 days of continuous heartbeat data, allowing for a more in-depth user data analysis. It also has a large memory capacity for up to two weeks storage. Data can be downloaded with ease.

Traditional styled heart rate monitors can sometimes be uncomfortable to wear, particularly at night but this device is smaller than a matchbox and attaches to just two points on the skin with snap on electrodes. The Firstbeat Bodyguard is unobtrusive and very comfortable to wear which makes it a hit with both practitioners and users alike.

Kate Heathcote, an ENT Consultant working with DeSAT, an international team researching the effects of living at altitude, on sleep and neurocognition said:

"We used the Bodyguard on 40 children living at altitude (3500m) to assess the impact of the altitude on autonomic nervous system function. The Bodyguards gave us a unique opportunity to collect this data as they were extremely reliable and well tolerated for monitoring episodes of over 24hrs."
